I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist in the Central Florida area. I have worked with children, adults and families for over twenty-five years in private practice, hospital settings and home health care. I have also worked as a school social worker for the Seminole County Public Schools since 2003. In addition, I have developed and coordinated various programs that enhance children's and families' lives.
In 2010, I was a featured expert on 60 MINUTES. The focus was child hunger and the struggles of homeless families living in motels.
In 2011, I was featured on a second segment of 60 MINUTES focusing on homeless families that live in cars.
My private practice, Beth Davalos Counseling Center, is located in Maitland, Florida. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples and the elderly. I treat people with anxiety disorders, depression, low self-esteem, social anxiety, behavioral issues, grief, unresolved loss, aging, caretaking and transitional adjustment issues. I facilitate social skills groups for children, adolescents and the elderly. I offer psycho-educational and parenting skills training to parents and caregivers. In addition, I am a Court appointed Parent Coordinator. I work with high-conflict parents to help them successfully co-parent and make decisions regarding their children.
My approach is one of one of warmth and respect. My goal is to work collaboratively with my clients to identify solutions, enhance existing strengths, build new skills to overcome obstacles and resolve core conflicts that are the source of their anxiety. Together we will determine a therapeutic course that will meet you or your family's needs.
